These long summer days are hot, but they’re fun! Staying active and having a regular workout routine is crucial to helping achieve your weight loss goals and summertime is no exception.

Spice up your workout routine with one of these three summer inspired workouts.

Remember, do NOT do your activity in the heat of the day. Given our brutal Texas summers, you want to avoid heat exhaustion/stroke and remember to stay hydrated!

Water aerobics is a resistance workout that is typically done in waist deep water. There is usually no treading of water or swimming. These classes are typically taught at a gym or community center and they help improve strength, agility and flexibility, all while staying cool in the pool.

Horseback riding may not seem like much exercise for the rider, but it is! You will develop a strong core, inner thighs and pelvic muscles because these muscles are used in maintaining balance and control. Overall, horseback riding can be a great workout that’s fun to enjoy during these long summer evenings.
